Acclaimed for his guitar tone, Peterson relied heavily on a La Patrie Hybrid Nylon for the beautiful and lush nylon string sounds heard on "Be a Blessing". He is currently in the studio using his Godin Nylon Multiac Ambient Duet, Godin A-4 fretless bass, and Godin Encore Nylon guitars.

"I love the feel of these guitars, the recorded sound and the creative freedom they inspire. Not having to spend hours getting the mics just so in the studio allows more time to focus on creating music because of the quality of the electronics and the tone these guitars provide as soon as I plug them in. Jazz / Blues guitarist and Godin artist Curtis Ray Smith specializes in recording and performing guitar instrumental arrangements of a diverse range of musical styles, so tonal flexibility is a must.  “Since I’m playing melody vocal parts instrumentally, as well as covering rhythm parts and solos, my guitar has to cover several bases within a single song.  With my Godin Montreal, I can move from an acoustic guitar melody part to a warm jazz tone for a solo, to single coil cut for a rhythm part – all with the flick of a toggle and twist of a blend pot.  I got hooked on Godin when I used a Multiac Jazz on my 2007 CD release “Masquerade”, but when it came to performing that CD live, the Montreal saved the day."
